Because game developers discriminate and are biased. (I don't know about PSP though . . .) |
Its as I already stated. The DS is far more popular in Japan. So third party developers are focusing on that in Japan. And in the 'west', the HD consoles are the craze, even if they aren't the most popular system (which is still Wii and DS). WHich gives third party companies an excuse to work on that instead of Wii.
So basically, in Japan, the DS is taking away third party support. And in the west, the 'HD Consoles' is taking away its third party support.

I'd add to that neither Fatal Frame IV or 428 "bombed". FF4 is actually the best selling game in the entire series, and 428 Wii is Chunsoft's best selling ADV game this gen (better than *anything* they've done on PSP, PS3 or DS in fact). Also, Muramasa is Vanillaware's 2nd best selling game ever. LKS was pure bomba though. ;_; |
Its all how you look at it. Did Muramasa and 428 make money? Sure. But on the most popular console and after being hyped as some of the best games the Wii has to offer....they should have done a lot better. I mean heck, 428 got a perfect score in Famitsu and lots of hype in Japan, and still only sold 150,000 copies. And I'm sure the developers for Muramasa are not complaining about the sales of their game, but its still far from a madly successful Wii game.
And Fatal Frame IV is really the best selling game in the series? Last time I checked, it had only sold between 75,000-100,000 total.
Looking at all these totals, Little King's Story isn't looking so 'bomb' as before. Its more like Japan just won't touch anything on the Wii without the names Mario, Wii or Resident Evil on the box.
