3 - I suppose I was more looking at repeating themselves within a generation. The only two games Nintendo have announced/released that repeat what a previous game has done are Wii Fit plus (but that was sold at expansion pack price) and SMG:2. I don't think the same could be said for Sony. However, you are right that Nintendo does still continue a lot of their franchises from their 1st console. I would argue that this is because they have managed to keep their IP fresh and different, and thus it continues to be demanded. Some of Sony's PS1 IP such as crash, well, it crashed. |
I will only answer to this one, i'm kinda busy on FFXIII but we more or less said anything that needed to be said for the others.
Crash, i think at least, was sold by Sony after Crash Team Racing. And you can't say it crashed really... Crash 3 sold over 7 Million units. Crash Team racing sold over 4 Million, and then Crash Bash after that sold over 3 Million. And even then Crash: Wrath of Cortex sold over 6 Million when it was made by Universal.
AFTER Crash 4, the series went on a downturn
