It would be optional, in the game. The whole game wouldn't be like that. You would get the grand, one player, experience, but if there happens to be two players, you could play this two player mode. Better than the two-player mode we have in Galaxy, where the other person simply gets the stars. And it will still be more like a platformer, than a race, like Sonic R.
