It's almost too easy for me to mention *cough* Halo Wars and Halo ODST *cough* Halo wars was a joke, but it proved a perfect example, just because it has the word Halo in it, doesn't mean it's going to break records. Sure ODST sold a good amount, but not even half of 3. Going back to userbase examples are we ? If it's as black and white as your saying it is, then shouldn't Forza 3 have destroyed Forza 2s sales ? Sure, sure I get what your saying, this debate can easily be endless. ALL I'm trying to say is, just because a system has a bigger userbase doesn't mean a sequel is going to sell "bat shit crazy" It's NOT as simple as that I will say 3.5mil launch day, 5 mil first month, and no chance in hell 10 mil by years end. |
*sigh*
- Halo Wars is not even in the same genre. That's even worse than comparing a 2D GTA to a 3D GTA. Halo Wars is the most successful RTS game on consoles this gen. Thus broke a record and wasn't even developed by Bungie....
- Halo 3 ODST is a bigger expansion. 1 new multiplayer mode, a new 4-5 hours campaign and 3 new maps and yet it still sold fantastic.
I will say it again. 5 MILLION people bought ODST for 1 new multiplayer mode and a new (short) campaign. Now imagine a completely new (and longer) campaign and brand new multiplayer (not just one mode) and updated graphics.
- Forza 3 already outsold Forza 2, because ~2m of Forza 2 sales were from bundles.
And again I never claimed Reach will sell 10m by years end LOL
