Nintendo Discussion - SSB DS - View Post

Back on-topic, I think Smash Bros would be horrible on DS. The whole point of the Smash Bros franchise is the multiplayer mode, and somehow I don't see it working on a portable system.

It would have online multiplayer, as well as wireless local multiplayer.  It would be a great game to get people to buy DSs and play together...multiplayer would not be a problem.

They would have to add plenty of single player modes because people aren't always by WiFi, but Brawl seems to do fine with single player stuff...I'm sure they could do a good job with Smash Bros DS.

What I've always thought it would look like is a little better graphics than the N64 Smash Bros...but with at least the same amount of moves, items, stages, etc from Melee.  It wouldn't have to have the same capabilities as Brawl, because it's on the DS, so it's forgivable to have as much stuff.

The lower screen could be for special touch-based moves, perhaps, or slots for additional buttons, I don't know.  I'm sure they could do something with it...as long as it would be able to be touched by a thumb instead of a stylus.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )
