Oh, I'm not saying the 360 has performed poorly, in fact it's done better than anyone could have imagined, especially in 2005. But the PS3 could have totally tanked if things didn't change, and quickly. They did, now it's at least moving up and doing well. When I say 'well', I don't mean exceptional, I mean just that, a simple 'well'. Now if it soemhow explodes after another price-cut, Arc or GT5 in Europe, THEN it's done exceptional. But for the most part, I agree. I just don't think either accomplishmet should be scoffed at and that's the impression I got from Grey21. |
I sort of agree with all that actually. It also just feels like PS3's stumbles bely the sort of overwhelming brand strength PlayStation had, and still has to some degree. Old favorites die hard. I mean hell, the UK still loves Sonic and Sega, while they've been a joke for generations now market wise.
I tend to think Arc will actually go over much better in Japan and Europe than America. I think it could help revive the Minna no/Hot Shots sports games too actually (which did better on PS1/PS2 in JP/EU anyway). GT5's going to be absolutely huge in Europe, but I sort of figure Sony pushed it back to help PS3 in leu of a fall pricedrop. I sort of see GT5 as more of a "holding the fort" sort of effect for them, rather than really pushing hardware above and beyond competitively.
