Not the same thing. In those JRPGs the western release usually has just as much voices as the original, well for JRPGs with this big budget anyway. It's not that there's only text, it's that Japan get's talking, while we do not.

Totally agree, thats annoying.

But lets not overblow this issue....its not big deal in the long run.
