Shipments in millions by quarter & year for sw for all. By volume, the PS3 software market in Oct-Dec 2009 was as big as the Wii software market in Oct-Dec 2007. At the end of 2007, Wii shipments were 20.12m though...while at end of 2009 PS3 shipments were 33.52m. So 20 million Wii owners bought 2.4 games, while 33m PS3 owners bought 1.5 games.
Wii software is tracking well ahead of DS software going by aligned launches.
On an individual level, DS software purchases are quite low. But the base is so enormous that the market remains pretty big despite a sharp Christmas quarter decline.
People are difficult to govern because they have too much knowledge.
