Earlier today, I went to GameSpot, and I finally settled on pre-ordering Battlefield Bad Company 2. And shortly after, I got the thought that it would be awesome if I could tell the VGC community somehow, but making a thread on it would be excessive.
So what if VGC were to gain a small Twitter/Facebook-style feature. You can "listen" to certain members and leave messages for the people listening to you, or you can just shout out to the public. It would be a bit like the "Post your mind"-thread, but built into the site.
I don't want to share all my game related little comments on Facebook, that would be pointless. But here, people actually know what I'm talking about. People could be saying things like:
"Just pre-ordered BFBC2, awesome!"
"Anyone up for a SSBB match? I need to kick some ass!"
"FF13 IS THE BEST!!!!!111eleven"
Then people wouldn't have to post threads about how they just got "game A" or completed "game B" (I know that making a thread can be justified in some cases, but for all the threads we've seen), so the forums would be cleaned up a bit too.
