That's your opinion. I consider mainline Mario to be Mario 1, Mario 2 (Both USA and The Lost Levels), Mario 3, Mario World, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, New Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Galaxy, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Super Mario Galaxy 2.
Super Mario Land 1 & 2 might be eligible for my list, too, but I never played them much to be honest.
