I somewhat agree. Sega not thinking that 2D Sonic is good enough for a retail release right after NSMBWii has showed that there is a huge demand for 2D platformers is.... on par with the 32X. And episodic content to add to that.
But the thing is, even if it's only DD and incomplete, it will probably be the best Sonic game since 1994, and Sega has given us incomplete Sonic games before that are still are highly regarded. I'm thinking of Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles that combined will form the arguably best Sonic game of all time.
