So this is obviously a God of War rip-off, and reviewers don't seem to shy away of saying that, in fact everyone's in everywhere is allowed to express their feeling about that...

BUT, for some strange reason, you will most likely get warned and maybe even banned for saying the same thing to the Forza series... That game is also an obvious GT rip-off, but it's a bannable offense to say that, and what's more strange is that most reviewers praise that aspect of the game, instead of criticizing it like they do with Dante's Inferno.

I was also surprised at how reviewers praised Braid and made it sound like it was the best thing to happen to gaming, while in fact, the game is a huge Mario rip-off with some new gameplay mechanics here and there.

I have personally played Forza, Braid, and Dante's Inferno (demo) and all these games are amazing, but I hate it how one of these games is accused for being a rip-off, while the others are getting a free pass.

I am baffled by the inconsistency.

Forza: You can't really change much in a racing game. Driving around in circles is driving around in circles.

Braid: It was supposed to resemble Mario, but "some new gameplay mechanics here and there"? The whole game was new gameplay mechanics. The designer took the basic ideas of Mario (ie a 2D platformer, like many other games- I guess Sonic is a mario ripoff?) and, of course, added Toad and the Princess in the Castle as a joke. Then he added time manipulation gameplay, which completely changes the entire game. It's not about jumping on mushrooms and gathering coins, it's about using your abilities over time to solve a mystery.
