TTYD good? you have got to be kidding me. Of all the Mario RPGs that I have played (Paper Mario, TTYD, Super Paper Mario, Partners in Time) it is the one I like the least. In fact, it goes beyond liking least. I dislike it. I've finished and greatly enjoyed all the other ones, but I dislike TTYD so much that I'm 2 chapters in and have no plans on finishing it. I find it that bad.
I enjoyed the quests in Paper Mario and Super Paper Mario, but I absolutely hate the tasks in TTYD.
On a design level, it's crystal clear it's an extension of Paper Mario. Additional elements were thrown in, and are executed well, but sometimes it felt that those elements were added just so it isn't exactly N64 Paper Mario with updated graphics. Elegence gone.
I have no plans to purchase SMG whatsoever as it's "too 3D", but TTYD is more like my least favorite Mario game ever.
the Wii is an epidemic.
