It didn't, really. I came in pretty late in the gamecube's life (like 3 months before the Wii). The games it had that were good were incredible, though.
For like $200 I got a gamecube and 5 games, I was suffering from awesome game overload. If it bought it at the beginning of its life it would have sucked.
The 2 Monkey Ball games (not adventure) are frickin sweet, I stand by that
