Sorry, but I know that I've heard of an article somewhere that stated that nintendo was specifically requiring stores not to inflate the price of the Wii, because early on with how much demand, there would have been a lot of call for it.

So if your country is paying huge amounts for something that, given direct monetary conversion, shouldn't be half that expensive, I'm willing to bet that it's either import taxes, or its some sort of entertainment tax, or possibly both.

Norway taxes the hell out of everyone (especially those who have no money), and things generally cost twice as much as in the rest of Europe... A bad place to be a gamer in other words!
