Stuffing the channel during Christmas may be possible, but the fiscal year ends in March... It's of no use to stuff the channel now if that means they won't sell any PS3 during January-March.
This was predictable, there were discussions about this many months ago in this website. They should have decreased their forecast earlier (unless they think it's better to delay bad news).
