Still better to ask first though... I believe I remember someone on these forums saying one of their friends or siblings stuffed an SD card into the disc slot of the Wii and it was repaired for free. (I may have mislaid some facts but that is how I remember it)

As TWRoO noted, it is always best to ask. Companies like Nintendo like to do goodwill for their customers. Sure, it may cost them $40 out of pocket now, but they gain a lifelong customer who will spend potentially thousands on their products. Nintendo has been known to go above and beyond what they claim they cover under their warranty.




If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
