You know, for almost 3 years of existence, people saw in the Wii a large decrease of confidence from third editors. My theory is that this never happened. In fact, the third party support increased a lot in 2009.

What people aren't considering is that those games are coming from little companies, not big like Ubisoft or Square Enix. VanillaWare made Muramasa, which is a brilliant title, a treasure on the Wii. We have the feeliing that there's no good third party support, but it's completely false. What we didn't get on 2009 are Nintendo games. Big Nintendo games. Because all the little companies like X-Seeds games aren't able to create massive hype by advertising. So their games aren't big hits like Assassin's Creed 2, but they are still excellent games.

We also got very good games in 2009 on the WiiWare. Bit Trip Void, LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias, Tales of Monkey Island, Final Fantasy After Years, Excitebike World Rallye...

So, I think we just get the feeling because they aren't big hit like those from third party on the PS3. Considering that, we got

Muramasa: TDB

Little King's Story

Dead Space Extraction

Resident Evil DC

Punch Out

New Super Mario Bros Wii

Wii Fit Plus

Wii Sports Resort

The Conduit

House of the Dead

MadWorld

A Boy and his Blob

Modern Warfare Reflex

So, yes, they aren't high profile game with huge advertising, but it's a very nice effort from little third party editors. The only party you should blame are big ones: Activision, Ubisoft, Square-Enix, Capcom...
