This is just not surprising to me. The DS combines the power of the N64 (just with processors not needlessly as fast) with the memory efficiency of the PS1. So at the very least it has the best of both. Yet it also has texture compression, with neither of the former two had, so it also has textures that top both of them. Although that does make the 5th gen level polygon count stand out, but at least the DS has a greater draw distance.



A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
