I do not agree with the OP
but one thing is true, for me nintendo or something related to the wii went wrong somewhere this gen, the wii is almost like the gamecube to me in terms of giving good games (basically not good at all thats why I own hardly ANY wii games).
I blame 3rd parties more than nintendo though.
The problem isn't even with nintendo TBH, they did space their games out well:
{hardcore on left....casual onr ight}
1. Zelda -- 2006 -- Wii sports
2. Mario -- 2007 -- Wii Fit (began in Japan this year)
3. Super Smash Bros -- 2008 -- wii Fit continued
4. NSMB Wii -- 2009 -- Wii sports resort
5. Metorid, Mario, Zelda -- 2010 -- vitality sensor
How much more can they really do now? But for me just those games aren't enough & wii hasn't been a good console
Rememebr this, nintendo now have to cater to casuals as well as those same casuals ARE their customers, us hardcore gamers aren't some superior race that deserve more attention.
Should I say nintendo was lazy....no that would be wrong as they have made casual & hardcore titles over the last 4 years & they have spaced them out really well imo, its 3rd parties who were lazy.
All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey
