What does Dragon Quest (A series bigger then Final Fantasy in Japan) have to do with Final Fantasy sales. Not to mention you brought up the DS (which has the user base almost the size of the PS2). Dragon Quest IX was a main game in the series, it was expected to sell like that in Japan.
I agree the wii would take it for Japan sales easily, but sales for the rest of the world would be a completely different story.
