lol, FFVIII and FFX-2 are nowhere as hated as FFXII but I'm really judging from the gFAQs forums so maybe the sample of gamers isn't huge enough but these are the most used quasi-official forums for these games.

I agree DQ9 & FF13 have the advantage of being popular franchises, but other rankings in the list show popularity simply isn't enough to be high.
And lol gamefaq's, the forums there are awful & bash any game to death from what I heard.
I believe that FFX-2 is more hated than FF12

I concede dear sir...you have won. I'll now admit that gFAQs guys aren't a good metric to judge such a factor. Now that I thin about it, perhaps that's because the haterade drinkers are more vocal. Regardless, I'm the type that buys a main series FF no matter what so these ideas have been for the sake of certain arguments not that I hate the game.
As for the FFx-2 vs 12 thing, I don't know what to say anymore since there's no way to really decide.

And yes FF haters have always been a very vocal group, definetely a minority every time (yes even for FF12)
I agree FFX-2 vs FF12 is no way to decide definitively, so lets leave it for now :)
