Because that's Capcom and not Nintendo.  When they announced MM9 and everyone was raving over it, I wondered what would happen if Nintendo did something like that.  Now I have my answer.

BTW, was there as much raving before it was announced not to be Wii exclusive?

My memory is not that good, but I remember a lot of angst when people thought it was exclusive.
