mike_intellivision said: In looking at NPD, NSMBWii appears to have outsold MW2 on the Xbox 360 and PS3 COMBINED in the month of December. Admittedly, those games were released in November -- but so was NSMBWii. But still, Reggie's boast may come true in US/NA. And the worldwide numbers are crushing.

for those interested NSMBWii would have to outsell CoD by over 1.6m in January alone. I don't think that is going to happen due to the massive dropoffs in sales. With 4 weeks in January that would mean NSMBWii would have to sell 400k/week and CoD would have to stop selling which won't happen.

I still don't recall his bet being in NA only!

He said January NPD, it can't get more USA only than that

Why does this even matter anymore?
NSMBW already outsold MW2 on a single platform in the US, consistent with what Reggie said. This overpublicised bet was over weeks ago.
If we're about to launch into another 'what did Reggie mean when he said' argument, it should be taken to another thread and not undermine what this thread is about.

it doesn't matter, but it is interesting. Why does X360 vs PS3 matter more than this when obviously publishers don't care about total install base or they would be putting FFXIII, CoD, and other high profile titles on Wii.
