I agree about Player's Choice games. As someone who just bought their Wii late last year, I have absolutely no interest in paying full retail price for games that have been out for 1-2 years or more. Maybe I'm just spoiled coming from a ps2 last generation where the vast majority of games decreased in price over time, and many of the popular ones were re-released for $20-$30 as greatest hits.
Support for their own peripherals is lacking. WM+ in particular seems to have little on the horizon besides Red Steel 2 and Zelda Wii.
They also are phoning it in more than Sony of Microsoft. That's just my take on it though.
