I just got a Wii, and I bought my first few games at a buy 2 get 1 free deal. To me it felt that NSMBWii was a given, and I also got DeadSpace, but it took me forever to get a third game.

There were a lot of games, tons of genres, and a lot of it seemed good but nothing really stood out. NSMW stands out as a game to get (apart from being Red).

No, the real reason why it's selling so well is that it's right up there with the best platformers ever created, Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World. If not better.

If it would be about having appeal to everyone, then NSMB Wii has some serious competition in Wii Sports Resort, Wii Fit Plus, Mario & Sonic and Mario Kart Wii. So there must be more to it than just having the appeal and that is, most likely, quality.

It can be the best game ever, honestly just as long as NSMBWii didn't have any fatal flaws it would have still been a million seller... but that's not what attracts people to buy it...

It's just more appealing then its competition.

 

Actually I bought Mario and Sonic Winter games and Wii Fit Plus too.
