Your last paragraph is irrelevant, XBOX had very little BIG selling ip, much less than the Playstation 2.. Madden, Halo, and maybe Call of duty were the big selling ip on the original XBOX.

Now going back to your GEARS OF WAR statement, an amazing ip, the true beginning of "current gen" gaming on XBOX 360. Uncharted a game that was also a new ip, and was considered the best looking game of the generation for quite sometime, sold what? 600K in the U.S? How much did Gears sell? 2,3,4 million? U.S alone?

My point isn't that the PS3 is the looser this gen, it clearly IS sales wise, but my point is that PLAYSTATION 3 games undersell. There is no reason why a game like UNCHARTED 2 should be struggeling to sell in the U.S, when there was a HUGE marketing campaign for it, and every single gaming site gave it astonishingly high reviews *higher than MWF2*

Take a look at this though:

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune was missing two crucial features present in Gears of War: co-op & multiplayer. Those helped Gears become the phenomenon it is tioday. Tel me, would Gears have done those #s without it? And despite not having those, Uncharted 1 is about to hit 3mill, not bad for a new IP.

As for Uncharted 2, it's selling MUCH better than it's predecessor, at least as of now. I mean, marketing also plays a BIG role, and Sony has been the loser there this gen for sure. You have to look at all sides of the spectrum.

I cannot say whether it would have or if it wouldn't have done those numbers. Also, yes 3 million is a good number, but I feel like if I say anything else it will turn into a mess.. so lets just end it at that

@Hus

Although that may be true for some games (#4), there are ip that sony have made that are just breathtaking and deserve more than what they hae sold. When nintendo just releases a compliation of mini games and ends up selling millions of more games than sony. It really makes me mad to see that happen.
