It's pretty easy for Nintendo to prevent its games from canceling each other's sales. For example, with Galaxy, Brawl, and Corruption, they just have to choose to release at most 2 of them in one big market, where it has the most chances to sell. So, they can release Galaxy and Brawl in Japan, Brawl and Corruption in USA and Galaxy and Corruption in Europe. Or any combination, and then, release the rest early 2008.
As for sales, unfortunately, I think these consoles' goal is tied to their sales.
MS crushing Sony hopes in the living-room is tied to XB360 market share, Sony BD success is tied to PS3 sales.
