Sony no longer collects licensing fees for PS2 games (an attempt to hurt the Wii that has failed) so it's probably no longer the profit generator it once was. The same for the PSP as the PSP Go was a failed attempt to reinvigorate the system. Sony is relying heavily on the PS3 now and the decisions they made in the past will probably continue to haunt them until the end of this generation.
