2)Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (PS3) / Infinity Ward, Activision / 1.87 million
3)Assassin's Creed II (Xbox 360) / Ubisoft Montreal, Ubisoft / 794,700
4)Left 4 Dead 2 (Xbox 360) / Valve, Electronic Arts / 744,000
5)Assassin's Creed II (PS3) / Ubisoft Montreal, Ubisoft / 448,400
6)Dragon Age: Origins (Xbox 360) / BioWare, Electronic Arts / 362,100

PlayStation 3 710.4K
Xbox 360 819.5K

YEP... VERY VERY GLOOMY. If the Wii didnt disrupt the game industry we could see video game crash part 2 right now. Just look at the charts. Except for MW2 no games on the top 10 that sold in a million this month. And the top 6 was 300,000 ish. What more in top 7-10 or in the top 20? Considering that estimately we have 200 million gamers so far compared to 60 million gamers during the NES and SNES era. You cant cater (IF the 2 HD consoles sold 60 million each) 60 million userbase compared to 200 million gamers we have today.

You're very confused....

There aren't anywhere near 200 millions gamers in the US for starters and NPD numbers are US only.

There are less millions sellers on single platforms because there is no HD platform dominating the market like the PS2 was...

PS : if motion control is such a revolution, why is it that the biggest Mario platformer of the gen doesn't support it...

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !
