^^ fair points, but a few areas to touch upon

1 - How many of the past gen fitness games incorporated a means of physically tracking your exercise routine? The last I can recal was the Power Pad on the NES.

2 - Sure, there are a handful that have broke through the 1 mil copies sold, but nonetheless, it doesn't change the fact that the motion controls in the Wii brought about a new advent in gaming

3 - Again, agreed, there are some games that are casual /family oriented, like guitar hero, singstar, etc. Hell even Madden has been enjoyed during halftime. Im not saying Nintendo invented casual gaming with the Wii, but they made gaming a more popular medium. When Wii's are found in retirement homes for bowling leagues, that's definitely a unique trend. When adults int their 40s and 50s are hosting Wii parties, its definitely a unique trend as well.

4 - Granted, Im talking about major devs, not independents here. Major companies brought interesting ideas to the table due to the low dev costs, giving them the chance to take a risk on something that is beyond xbl/psn/wiiware

I don't terribly much disagree with you. But I feel like all this and some was tried last gen.  some even before that.  But since nintendo is the first one to learn where to find and how to market to the non-gamers they will receive all the credit.  That just saddens me a little.

It's like kids who wear those i was gay before it was popular t-shirts.  We couldn't have been. Ru Paul was on daytime television in the mid nineties.  unless you are over 40 that's nigh impossible really as the eighties is when we really started getting mass media coverage because of aids and such.
