They will redo their entire packaging scheme. The "normal" Wii will come with Wii Sports, Wii Fit, 1 Wii remote, 1 Nunchuck, and 1 Balance Board, selling for $230 ($229.99). The "Upgraded" Wii will contain Wii Sports, Wii Fit, Wii Play, 2 Wii remotes, 2 Nunchucks, 1 Balance Board, 1 10GB HDD, and DVD playability. It will sell for $350 ($349.99).

The normal Wii will stay as it is. With all the craziness this Xmas, expect the Wii to potentially STILL be selling out next Xmas - especially if they start bringing out new models.

I think you'll start seeing a WiiFit Wii bundle for next Xmas:

Wii (current package) + WiiFit/board for around $299 (no price cuts coming soon?)

If there is a price cut - maybe the normal Wii package drops to $229US, Wii/WiiFit for $279

...

There is no way they would just "throw" another Wii remote, Nunchuck (etc) in - they make great money off WiiPlay, and they will continue to do so.

DVD support will almost certainly be a software upgrade - one thing Nintendo do NOT want is for people to start "updating" their Wiis - the process of moving channels, saves, Miis (etc) to another Wii is a real pain in the butt - and they would never encourage this on-masse.

Most likely - Animal Crossing will come with this hard disk (if its real, and if its needed) - and there is no way it will be a measely 10Gig (what's the point?). I'm guessing 60, although it could be larger.

They have proven that the best way to get acceptance of a new peripheral, is to bundle it with a big selling game.
