When relatives come over, the non gamers, I just let them play Wii Sports/Resort, its usually quite entertaining for them. They just pick up the wiimote and start swinging, its amazing how theres almost zero learning curve on those games.
I also showed them RE4 from the intro onwards, since people have saw or heard of the RE movies, they go, woa this is like a movie, then as I start playing, it becomes why don't they die in one shot?? then lose interest lol ... of course with RE4, I will even translate some of the Spanish spoken by the ganados and tell them what a hit game this was, but this entertains me more than them.
Wii succeeded in attracting the casual market with the control scheme and the new types of games in your home, but its hard to shake the feeling its also alienating some core gamers/games.
Casuals want simplicity, core gamers want something more challenging and cutting edge graphically. Where will Ninty draw the line next time around?
