In one way I can say yes your right Ail.

The Industry is looking at PS3 and Xbox360 like it's the defacto, in fact they seem to have gotten over the whole starve one HD platform to boost and control the others successes.

But at the same time it's become clear that the failures of the Industry show that nearly 50% of the gaming populace is not interested in quite a bit of their offerings, as that large portion either didn't buy a HD console. Furthermore the Industry is now seeing stiff competition from Nintendo.

If they leave the Wii alone then Nintendo will dominate that platform no questions asked, which means Nintendo will own nearly 50% of gaming. As it stand’s one could argue that people who bought the PS2 wanted the Square games, one could argue that 3rd parties had elicit share of the PS2 installed base. But on the Wii should a 3rd party falter even a little it becomes clear Nintendo is the dominant software provider.

If Nintendo is left alone to monopolize their platform, the Industries worst fear will come to fruitation, which is 1st party dominance of software publishing. This would put Nintendo in a position where their software is indirectly comparative to 3rd and 1st party software on other platforms.

So in the end there has been an effect on the Industry, it's just that the effect is not like with the Ps2.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.
