If developers use it for that, yes. Resort is the best example, although you can also see it in Grand Slam Tennis (before the serve, you can rotate your Wiimote in various ways and the racket will move accordingly). During the match Grand Slam seems to switch to a different system though: it uses your speed, rough angle, and the amount of your follow through to determine where your return goes, but not in a truly 1:1 manner. I certainly have to slightly modify my swing when I play Grand Slam, anyways.
