First off, I'm a huge fan of the GameDB and our game collections. This is why I want to make the following suggestion, even though the whole thing will be quite an undertaking.
Make VGC the definitive website for having game collections.
In the same that there are sites that allow you to have your movies, animes and what not listed, make VGC THE site for people to store their game collections on. There are a number of things that can be done to achieve this I think.
- Allow us to set up our Game Collections. Allow us to rank our games, to create our own categories that people can view them by. Example:
This undisclosed member has a huge list of games in his Favorite Games section, all with a score attached and all placed in a category. I think it would be awesome if something like this could be made more easily, all while being integrated into our game collections. We could be allowed to just punch in a score for a game (which would just stay with that members collection, not go to the game page), or we could pull the score from our own reviews (if one had been made).
With a system like that, members could create their own "Top 5 games of the 6th generation" or "Top 1337 games of all time" and would encourage greater usage of both the GameDB and your own game collection.
- Integrate our game collection more into the site.
Sort of like what has just been done with the console tags actually. Maybe do so we can put game collection data in the VGC signatures, or allow for an embedding of some kind so they are easy to use and present both in the forums and outside of VGC.
- Allow us to 'Favorite' a game, youtube style.
- Allow for more info to be shown in the collection.
I think the current 'view-mode' works fine for a bare-bones/quick overview mode, but I think it would be nice if we could have options for showing data in the collection. Like in my first suggestion with the scoring, you could have a view-mode where it is visible, and one where it isn't. Stuff like that

These are just ideas of course, and I have no idea if they are viable or not, but I think having them would be pretty awesome
