Those TV's probably were not hooked up the best they could have been.... |
you are probably correct, and dtewi has issues. Now before you start spewing crap about how HD looks bad, try going and watching some real HD source material hooked up either via HDMI or Component vidio, until then you aren't allowed to complain about HD. Now if you want to say that you prefer SD to HD, fine, but right now you are just complaining about nothing.
@scruffy
LCD TV's only have 1 native resolution and almost all of them scale all the "normal" resolutions to the native one. Depending on the quality of the TV some look bad while others look good while upscalling. My TV looks fine while upscalling my 480p DVD player, but looks like crap if I put my Wii in 480p. However, my parents 480p Wii looks great on their TV. Your best bet to make sure you get a good upscaller is to try out the TV yourself. Bring whatever source material you want to watch and plug it straight into the TV.

make sure you adjust your TV with the settings. The factory settings really aren't meant to be used at all. Most people never really adjust their TV's because they think that the default settings are fine but their TV could look so much better with a little tweaking.
