That only proves my point. Reviews shouldn't be so different among different reviewers from the same site. If the personal opinion of the reviewer dominates the review, it's an illegitimate review, period.

No, that's what an opinion piece is. The goal of a review isn't to make your opinion known, but to inform readers of the game's qualities and weaknesses so they can form an opinion of their own.

Problems arise because one's interpretation of a game's qualities and weakness is influenced by one's own biases and preferences, which to some extent can't be helped. The problem these days is most people don't even make the attempt to make an impartial assessment of the games qualities and instead just dive straight on into opinion.
