I spend a lot of time reading the forums here, but unfortunately it is quite hard to follow the threads as when you reopen a thread that has gotten new posts since the last time you viewed it, it doesn't jump to the first unread post. So I always have to scroll or search manually through the pages of the thread to find where I left off. Can be very time-consuming when it's a thread that is getting a lot of posts.

I know that the threads have this function as you can do

http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=IDOFTHETHREAD&start=THEPOSTNO.OFTHETHREADTHATSHOULDBEOPENED

Could this please be implemented in the site functionality? Most professional forums have this feature working...

This is working off the 'recent threads' column now - haven't worked it into the general 'board' pages, but I will...

Thanks TalonMan. I've tried it, seems to somewhat work, but not completely. I use 100 posts per page on my forum settings. If the post was less than 100 pages it works fine, but I had one url with over 100 posts that didn't work:

http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=92759&page=2#85

This link tells it to go to page 2, post 85, but there are far less than 85 posts on the second page at the time of writing, so it stays at the top of the page. So I think there is a problem with how it is set up in relation to the settings of posts per page.

It's very cool to get this in the forum itself, but where I would like it the most is actually on the forum links on the front page of the website. Today, it says something like this for logged in users:

I noticed something cool about this weeks sales...

It would be cool if either the main thread link there got the feature, or, optionally, turning the "3 new" text below into a link that jumps to only new posts.
