I will sell my Wii and get a black one if it doesn't set me back too much.

What really fries my noodle is WHY Nintendo doesn't just introduce the Black Wii fully. Why are they holding back so much. Does it really make THAT much marketing sense?

Sales were slowing down in Japan, and the Black Wii is available there. So do the math.

I'm pretty sure you misunderstood me there.

Then what did you mean? It's not help to state something like that without explaining it.

"What really fries my noodle is WHY Nintendo doesn't just introduce the Black Wii fully"

=

Make it a standard SKU along with the white. It's obvious that there is a major demand for new colors etc.

"Why are they holding back so much."

=

It's a limited edition.

"Does it really make THAT much marketing sense?"

=

Will the fact that they're holding it back and making it a sought-after item due to it being limited edition really boost sales more than if it were a standard SKU?

_____

I though it's pretty obvious really.

Now looking at what you said: "Sales were slowing down in Japan, and the Black Wii is available there. So do the math."

I have no idea how this relates to what I said, even if you misunderstood me.

No, you misunderstood me.

Black Wii in Japan=Helping slowing sales.

Sales healthy elsewhere=Saving the black Wii for when it's needed.
