You obviously didn't play BF2 on PC. Completely different games.
There may be a console (downgraded) version of BF3 a year or two after the PC version just like BF2 had, but the difference is that BFBC2 was made on consoles for consoles with the PC version as a port with, hopefully, a few better features, like map size and player count.
BF3 is rumored to be built on PCs for PCs. Basically it seems like they are splitting the series between the main BF series remaining PC oriented and the BFBC series becoming console oriented. Which is perfectly fine and the way it should be.
A fully created PC version is sooooooooo much better than any FPS on any console.

True, however, its an opinion that anyone who has played BF PC games and console FPS games would share. Kinda the same as saying adding sugar to a food item will make it taste better. An opinion, sure, but a nearly worldwide accepted truth.

Halo series, CoD series etc.
I'm sure that out of those millions the majority won't agree with you. I could list at least 20 console FPS that are in my opinion better than Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142 and Battlefield Vietnam.
