The UK isn't exactly your normal European country. Check the sales figures for Xbox360 for UK on this site. Halo is big in the UK.

 Well, now that you say it, there really isn't a "normal" European country. Some countries, like the UK, dig Halo alot more than others. Some countries like Spain, really love them their PS3s. Some countries go for FIFA, some go for PES, etc. However, the one constant thing in most of Europe has been that Wii is popular there. So I don't necessarily think UK SMG sales (and Irish) are that bad of a barometer.
