WOW............. your joking right.......... were would that support go hmmmm PC? Becasue it damn sure aint going to nintendo, nintendo wii is the only game console in HISTORY to be market share leader and have next to no 3rd party support. Last gen, you were a fool to not have your game on ps2, and the same for the ps1, and super nintendo, and nes, but not to put great games on wii...... is perfectly ok. If the 360 was to vanish next gen all that would happen is all the 3rd party support it saw would go to PS, and all its support form its commmunity would go to PS. You can't truly think a real gamer would op for a nintendo console over sony console if nintendo and sony were all to choose from, and they had to choose 1. |
I was refraining from joining this but.....
The (gaming development) support he is talking about is going to be shifted to the new consoles and they will probably offset this risk by continuing some development on whatever current gen console it makes the most sense to continue to support. If MS make the earliest exit to this generation then developers are going to have to choose to continue supporting either the PS3 or the Wii, I know where I'd be putting my money. On the other hand if Nintendo is first out of this generation then there would be twice as much incentive for developers to continue to develop for the HD console while shifting some resources to the new Nintendo console.
Although it may never gain the stellar support of the PS2 at it's peak I would expect that developers are not going to make the mistake (again) of assuming the new Nintendo console will be a non-factor and it should get decent support from the outset as long as there isn't a yawning technical gap between it and what Sony and MS bring to the table. I don't think that is going to be anywhere near as much of an issue next gen as it was this one.
