Great effort, I love it. However, the NES was capable of a bit more than this, especially in the music dept, the bland tiles, the repeated enemy models (at least a few different types of zombies please), and the overall low level of difficulty.
Obviously it would take a team of programmers (smaller than the old school NES teams due to shortcuts/advances in tech, but still a team) to get a really comparable game, but as a fan service, it's fantastic. I love the survivor models.
