A lot of Socom fans were put off by the fact that it isn't a TPS. I think that approving this game was a mistake on Sony's part. It requires a full game budget, and the additional commitment of dedicated servers. A $60 game with only an online component will be a tough sell. Zipper should have been working on a proper Socom sequel. That franchise still has some life in it, if it is managed properly.
