I would agree with this statement lets say 15 years ago... today I dunno... Graphicsa dont matter I agree, gameplay has to fun, not to complex, I agree, but difficulty. Well lets look at MKWii and Cars for good examples. They both look like they target the same audience, but while MKWii can give you hell on earth sometimes, when played right, Cars simply remains the same, low-paced, dull experience...
So in todays world, IMO difficulty level is one of the few things that can diferenciate a kids game from a core game. This is just my humble opinion of course and should not be accepted as a fact
