if yes, then you will see

Transformers > Schindler's List

Yeah, but that is directly comparing static sales numbers. If you compared those movies, cars, and computers to similar computers in the same price range, released at the same time, with the same marketing and hype, it might help you determine which of the two consumers would pick assuming all things are equal.

Again, static sales numbers are an indication of nothing but popularity. Comparitive sales of very similar products can help you determine which has great value, and in rare instances, quality, in the eyes of the most consumers.

Ironically, PS3 vs 360 for a moment, approached the line of sales being a factor in helping us determine value, if not quality.

Don't many people, everyday, on this forum claim that the quality of the PS3 along with the quality of its library will help it come out on top of the 360 in the end? Aren't they implying that quality can help or hurt sales, and thus, sales can in rare instances be an indication of value, if not quality?

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
