It should also be noted that their interest on working on the Wii seemed to be in the form of a childrens game and not a FPS like they're known for.
At least that's what i remember Gabe saying in one of the interviews.
Valve is like Epic. Doing amazing on the systems there on and they're making crazy ass cash and have no reason or need to branch out since they only need to meet the expectations of a few people rather then TONS of stockholders.
They just need to focus on their big money makers (Unreal Engine/Steam) and make games that make their real primary product look good... and rake in more cash then the owners of the company can swim in.
Wii development for them would be more an amusement then a buisness venture i fear.
