So many cinematic games in the PS2 years, but those magically are forgotten nowadays.

Cenematic was already possible with the 5h gen. There was a certain Kojima game that showed it off.

So claiming the Wii can't do cinematic games is BS.

They've gotten acclaim, so apparently they have the talent. But they apparently don't have faith enough in that talent to try something that would focus on that more.

In case it isn't clear, it's not that they don't want to work on the Wii. It's the dubious excuse.

You can't compare the previous two gens to this one in terms of multiplatform development though, this gen you have two consoles and PC that are leaps and bounds ahead in technology and that complicates things. I know people are pissed off that developers keep short sticking the Wii but Nintendo need to man up and accept some of the responsibility, they're the ones who opted for building a cheap, simple machine to gain new audiences.

You're right, however, that older consoles have delivered cinematic experiences, so that's kind of a lame excuse for them to make. But, again, from a multiplat standpoint there's a vast difference in hardware and the more tech savvy developers seem to have made up their mind (Epic, Valve, Crytek etc) on the subject.
