Even then, though, the 250-300K isn't TOO terrible. It is low, yes, but it could be worse. I expect that the game will get more sales stateside (perhaps the reviewers will be more enthusiastic here).
Also, we don't really know if the game will be a hit or not. It depends on how the public responds to it. I don't expect to be a super-huge hit, but I think it'll be fairly successful. 300K isn't anything to scoff at in Japan.
I don't know what Square-Enix will have next for Wii after this before DQX, but hopefully the game will do respectable business for them to continue their support (or perhaps improve it a little).
